CEM English is a DynEd Center of Excellence that has successfully implemented our Solutions to help their learners acquire the English-language communicative skills they need more quickly and effectively.

Founded in 1981 by Ms. Marta Kaski Fullone, CEM has expanded quickly. It currently has 3 sites and more than 2,500 students of all ages. It additionally supports the English-language programs of local schools (reaching more than 2,000 students and teachers) and it directs an English-Language Training Program with the Universidad FASTA of that city.

The Organizational Dimension: Humanistic and Personalized Teaching

CEM has integrated all their language levels (Beginner, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, and Advanced) to DynEd's courses in their Multimedia Center. This has been key for increasing the hours of individualized practice and for helping students prepare for international exams such as CAE, ESOL Examinations, First Certificate, Proficiency, and TOEFL.

The most popular courses among the students are New Dynamic English for all levels of English for adolescents and adults, Clear Speech Works for some of the most advanced students, and Dynamic Business English for college students, among others.

New Dynamic English Level 1 is currently being used for Beginner I and Pre-Intermediate I students, alongside the English Files books. New Dynamic English Level 2 is used for Intermediate I and Upper Intermediate learners alongside the Cutting Edge textbooks.

Effective Implementation

CEM has been successful because of following these criteria:

• appointing a Coordinator & Leader of the DynEd Project at the school
• making the lab-classroom work support each other
• implementing a Teacher Training program from the first day
• designing a new Pedagogical DynEd-CEM Integration Program that responds to CEM's specific courses, student body, and learning goals
• adopting all of DynEd's Management & Support Tools (Records Manager, Placement Tests, Mastery Tests) to guide teachers and students
• evaluating the students' and teachers' progress in the use of the courses

In sum, this effective implementation has taken place at CEM within a Change in their Organizational and Pedagogical Culture. This innovative and creative answer to today's learners has made CEM an example of educational excellence.
