It is important to keep your installation up-to-date. Starting with Installation Disc v1.9, there is an easy way to update. All components, including courseware and the Records Manager, are updated through the UpToDate application.

The end user is notified of updates in these environments:

Local Records:
Users are not notified, but should periodically check for updates manually (see below). Updates are announced on the news page at the DynEd web site.

Internet Records:
Users are automatically notified when logging in after an update has been made available.

Manual update Instructions:

  1. Look in the "DynEd" directory. You should see a file called "UpToDate" (or UpToDate.Exe).
See the section below if you can't find the UpToDate application (or your installation was done with an Installation CD prior to version 1.9)
  2. Double-click the "UpToDate" application.
  3. Click the "OK" button.
  4. Select these three items: "Launcher Application", "Multimedia Engine", "Records Manager."
  5. Click the "Download" button.
  6. The applications are now up-to-date.
  7. To update the courses themselves, highlight the other items and click the "Download" button.
  8. Click the "Quit" button.
